It's Hot N Cold: What to Wear In This Post Apocalyptic Climate Change November

You either know fashion or you don’t. - Anna Wintour

I think that’s a bit harsh of Anna, but she is Miss Vogue, so what she says goes. Although it is my firm belief that fashion can and must be learned, so I’m excited to announce that I will be dishing out the very best advice on what to wear this “fall” season.

Climate change, though republican lawmakers may choose to say otherwise, is real and directly affects clothing trends (among other things (Wildfires, and Hurricanes, and Earthquakes, Oh my!)) So I am here to answer the ever pondered question; “What TF do I wear?”. The world once had Joan Rivers but now y'all have ME.

Let's start off with what we are NOT wearing in the year of fall 2023 (practically 2024). Leggings. Any sort of legging. Unless we are getting our asses up and going to the gym and it’s a cute workout set, abolish leggings. I love gen-z because we are so nostalgic but our 2016 fashion era has yet to circle back around meaning leggings are a giant NO! Especially leggings with Nike socks and converse combo. Please seek help if you are reading this and still sporting that look. There are many resources. Next on the list are cropped puffers and vests. Ummm no comment let's use our brains here those are both fugly!

With that being said, I am very willing to help out and give some good recommendations on what TO wear when the weather starts off freezing cold in the am and ends up like the Sahara desert by afternoon. Depending on the temperature, you can always stick to the classic sweater and shorts combo. If the sweater has a normal neckline, layer a white t-shirt underneath so it peeks out a little and it can very much elevate your look. This gives the illusion you are playing around with layering and that you put more effort into your outfit than you actually did. Speaking of elevating, Trench (coats)! I think we should all be investing in trench coats, but not in a detective sort of way. Trench coats are awesome because they are relatively lightweight and they match everything. You can easily take it off and carry it around if need be and they pretty much go with every outfit. I just had a thought and this might be a hot take but since fur is trending I think fur vests are a good option too. I own a fur vest and it's pretty iconic but anything fur (second hand) usually is. #iconicfur? #peta? Next on the list is an off the shoulder sweater or long sleeve top. By this I mean fully off both shoulders. There are many different options when it comes to fabric for these so it can be lightweight or on the thicker side, both are perf! It's simple, but any long sleeve plain tight shirt is so cute, it's not too hot and you can also throw a sweater over your shoulders.

When it comes to shoes, let's all invest in some good black heeled knee high boots for a night out. They look really cute and manage to keep your legs warm. For everyday wear, I suggest loafers but only if you wear them with crew socks, a cool pair of sneakers, mary janes, or ballet flats (if you're that type of gal). Not sure how I feel about uggs, I think I can let them slide for now because I myself have thought about purchasing a pair. This might make some people sad but I think the fashion world is out of its platform era so let's rethink our platform shoes.

Next up are jackets!!! Everyone go buy a leather jacket right now! Leather jackets make any outfit look cool but not the 2012 moto ones I mean like a vintage leather jacket. Like I stated before, a trench coat as well. Any long coat that can elevate your look whether it's wool, cashmere, or a puffer. But please buy this in a neutral color honestly no one wants to see a teal color coat or anything like that it can be frightening to the kids.

Anyways those are my top recommendations for dressing your best during this fall season. I hope everyone got awesome black friday deals, I know I did when I worked at the mall for 9 hours thumbs up. I know every single one of you will look so awesome, beautiful, and major this fall season! Always remember that the best accessory to an outfit is your smile (joke)!
